Summer holiday

Friday 27 July 2012

I am out in portugal at the moment with my family and mine and my sisters boyfriends. So far it has been really lovely. A chance to relax, enjoy some nice food (although eating out as a vegetarian is hard!) and explore new places. We are staying in out own villa with a pool, which is needed because it is so hot in the middle of the day! So far we have eaten out a few times, wandered round the old town, been to the beach and booked some trips for next week. Here are few photos from the holiday so far:

Oh and it was my birthday! :D Got my presents on monday morning before we flew out here and my family and boyfriend have been so generous! Will do a post on the things i got when i get back probably, there were some really great presents.
Having a lazy day today. Will watch the olympic opening ceremony tonight whilst having an early tea. Its strange how much later everything is out here. Hoping people are enjoying the nice weather back home too.

Product summaries

Friday 20 July 2012

This is something a little different from my normal posts. Generally i dont use many products (except for my nails). I dont have a particular skincare routine and my hair usually gets a brush and a blow dry straight out of the shower. But lately there are a few things which i have been using and really love, so i thought i would share them with you.

1) Figs and Rouge balm (peppermint and tea tree) - i got this in the bloggers boutique goody bag a couple of months ago and it has nearly run out. It smells really nice and has a good consistency, feels very moisturising on my lips. The only downside is the tin is quite difficult to open and its only a small tin.

2) Flexitol cuticle and nail cream - i started using this because i often get skin peeling around my nails and its made a real difference. It has a slightly odd smell but is a nice thick cream which sinks into the skin and helps to heal around the nail.

3) Daisy by Marc Jacobs - this has been my go to perfume for a few years now. This is my second bottle and i use it all year round. Its such a lovely fragrance, i wish it lasted a bit longer during the day though.

4) Simple hydrating light moisturiser - this is my daily moisturiser now and i like how light the cream in and how easily it sinks in. Especially in comparison to the Nivea moisturiser i bought recently. The only advantage of the nivea one is that it contains spf 15.

5) Hand Food by Soap and Glory - this bottle has nearly run out! But i think i will be buying another one. It has such an amazing smell and i find it sinks into my hands really quickly.

Hope you like this kind of post :) have you tried any of these products? What are your go-tos?

Chiffon and pleats

Vest: H&M, Skirt: c/o OASAP, Converse: Office

Actually not raining for once! So i have managed to get some outfit photos in, and the weather forecast looks good for today so think i will take some of the things i have been wearing the past few weeks.
This skirt arrived in the post yesterday morning (put it on straight away!). I got this as part of OASAPs fashion hunter program, it is a really great idea and some other brands have started schemes like this too. Its a great way to showcase what they have and it means i am constantly finding new stores. The skirt arrived after just 6 days which i think is pretty reasonable, and the skirt is so lovely. Oh and did i mention postage is free?! The skirt is a great quality material and was a bargain at around £16, think i will have to buy it in more colours! They have some really unique pieces up on their site so definitely worth a visit - link in the sidebar.

Dreaming of summer

Saturday 14 July 2012

I bought this bikini just a few days ago after seeing it online. I absolutely love asos delivery, one of thie big reasons i shop there. This bikini was a steal in the sale at only £13.50! The material is so soft and i love the colour and the pattern. I have been on the hunt for nice bikinis/swimsuits for a while and this one is perfect (it is still in stock here if you want it.) I have also placed quite a big order on Oysho which is a shop i had never heard of before, but they had some really lovely swimwear in the sale. I am a sucker for a bargain.

I go on holiday in just over a week to portugal with my family and my boyfriend, cannot wait! Its already up at around 30 degress which is a little too hot for my liking. But i am looking forward to being able to wear my summer clothes and get my bikinis out.
I am also looking forward to my birthday which is in 10 days! Finally i will be 18 :)

Etsy picks

Monday 9 July 2012

Been away from the blog the past week. Had some really great nights out with my friends, some long shifts at work and a gala to help out at in the rain! I have really enjoyed myself though. Its good sometimes just to get away from the computer for a bit. But i have caught up with all the posts i missed now and back to tweeting more regularly, i do miss reading blogs all the time.
Just got a few things i want to share that i have been loving recently. All these pieces are off Etsy. There are some really unique brands on there and some of the most amazing items.

1. These beauties are from Tentative Decisions and are handmade raw crystals hung from a gold chain. I love how striking they are and would really love to buy one. They are quite pricey though.

2. I have had this travel pass holder in my basket for a while and just need to buy it! The design on it is so cute and i could actually really do with something to hold my bus pass in that doesnt fall apart. She also makes some lovely temporary tattoos too.

3. I have just realised that this item actually doesnt ship to the UK :( but how cool is this embroidery hoop? Loving the quote from the how i met your mother.

4. Annarack is a little shop run by Anna. She is really talented and you should check out her blog too if you havent already. She makes some pretty earrings along with matching necklaces and rings. But this design caught my eye cause i think harry potter is pretty amazing.

Do you have any other etsy stores to recommend? I love to support small businesses and being able to have pieces which noone else does.

JULY!

Monday 2 July 2012

Background image from tumblr

I cant really believe we are half way through the year already! So far its been pretty crazy because i have sat two lots of exams, completely finished college and generally had a lot going on. But this month is going to be a great one. Things i have got planned:

  • Its my best friends birthday so i am making a huge batch of cookies and celebrating with her before going to town.
  • Going to see 'The Amazing Spider-man' as a work trip. It has become a bit of a regular thing now has films and nandos. Im not complaining!
  • My friend and i who help out at a local brownie group have organised a big Alice in Wonderland themed party for them, because we only have a few nights left before we leave. I am really excited but still have lots to get done.
  • It is the annual gala at the cricket club i am involved in and its a really huge day. Hoping for some sunshine.
  • One of my friends is having a big bbq get-together all day and then a house party all night which i am really looking forward too.
  • Oh, and i turn 18 this month! It feels like its taken an age to come round. I am having a birthday meal with loads of my family at my favourite restaurant.
  • But i have my actual birthday out in PORTUGAL where my family, my boyfriend and my sisters boyfriend are spending two weeks.
This month will literally be amazing and i cant wait for some of the things to come round. What does everyone else have planned for July?
Ps. i have some items on ebay at the moment, so check them out here.
